What has been your experience with Depakote ER

Depakote Er the scourge of the anti-convalescents. It does the job, but makes one fat unless one lifts four times a week and adheres to a strict diet. Been on it for two years.

My sister took this medication this past summer. If we are talking about the same one it is for Bi-polar correct?

Well, just from her experince and what I have learned from it, it is better known as the ''Balloon Pill'' it cause you to gain ALOT of weight.

I took Depakote to stabilize my moods for bi-polar but I do not think it helped because I had several manic episodes while I was on it and eventually had to change medications. The only good thing about it was that I did not have any other negative side effects, but what is the point if the medication is not doing it is proper job in the first place?

I do not know what you are taking it for.I take it for P.T.S.D. and an anxiety disorder, it stabilizes my moods, I take other things as well, so I do not know how it would be alone.

I took it for several years. Gained over a hundred pounds. Take the minimum dose that works. It is a good med. Lost my job from being constantly groggy.

I do not know about ER, but I have taken regular depakote. It made me groggy and the world felt like a dream. I was on it for almost a year. The tiredness went away, but I was still very mellow. my mood was like a flat line.
